Youth Faith Formation
Welcome to St. Mary of the Assumption Youth Faith Formation Program
St. Mary’s offers several program options for children and teens as young as age 3 through grade 12. All programming at St. Mary’s is led by trained Catechetical Volunteers; parishioners like you. Training is provided by the Office of Youth Faith Formation at the parish. All volunteers receive background checks and attend Diocesan Safe Environment training. Children’s Liturgy of the Word is held during the 9:30 am Mass on Sunday’s from early September through May. Children hear the Sunday Liturgy on their level and begin to understand the stories of the Gospel. Children’s liturgy is for children aged 3 – 8 years old.
Youth Faith Formation programming for Grades Kindergarten through 9th grade - Our curriculum is designed to offer full catechetical faith formation for a full nine years. Families are encouraged to enroll their children in all 9 years of programming to be fully formed in their faith. For more information please refer to the curriculum link below for more details.
Sacrament preparation classes are 2-year programs which begin in 1st grade for First Communion and 8th grade for Confirmation. There is a program option for students who are seeking First Communion and Confirmation outside the 1st grade and 8th grade years. Rite of Christian Initiation for Children - A 2-year R.C.I.C. program for children and teens ages 6-17 who need baptism is available. Please contact the Director of Religious Education for more program information.
Classes generally begin in October and run through May. You can print a registration form from the link below and mail it to 1505 W. White Pine Canyon Road, Park City, or drop it off at the Administrative offices adjacent to the White Pine Canyon Church in the Parish Center Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
We offer early registration from April through July 31 and regular registration from August 1 through the beginning of September. Registration closes mid-October. Please contact the Director of Youth Faith Formation if you move into the area outside these registration periods to enroll in classes.
Religious Education and Sacrament fees are due by October 1st. Call the Religious Education office if you need to make other arrangements. All children should be enrolled in religious education regardless of the household financial situation. Scholarships are available upon request.
