LATIN MASS

Our bishop granted Fr. Gray temporary permission to continue celebrating the older form of the Mass, the traditional Latin Mass, until the bishop has had the opportunity to prayerfully reflect and study the matter more. Unless otherwise stated on this page, the Sunday 3pm Mass (and other occasional Latin Masses during the week) continue to be celebrated in the older form. Please continue to pray for St. Mary's, for our bishop and diocese, for the pope, and for the Church!

LATIN MASS AT ST. MARY'S

St. Mary's is blessed to offer the older form of the Mass, the Extraordinary Form, Traditional Latin Mass on Sundays and other special occasions in Park City, Utah!

REGULAR LATIN MASS TIMES

  • Sundays 3:00 PM at St. Mary's Church (Note: Latin Mass will be at 4 PM on Easter Sunday, March 31, and at 5 PM on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 7)
  • Fr. Gray occasionally celebrates Low Mass on weekdays - Learn more here

Immediately after Sunday Latin Mass, stick around afterwards for coffee and an assortment of potluck style (feel free to bring a dish) dishes, pastries, etc.

    SUNG VESPERS

Stick around after Latin Mass and refreshments for sung Vespers (evening prayer for the Liturgy of the Hours)!

    VESPERS GUIDE - 3/17

    questions about the latin mass

Is this very different from normal Mass?
Yes and no. Come and see! Here's an introduction, though St. Mary's doesn't necessarily agree with everything it says. Most importantly, feel welcome—and come with an open heart.

    What should I bring?
Very basic booklets are available to help follow along, but many people prefer to bring their own hand missal. This one, this one, and this one are some of the best available.

What is "Low Mass," What is "Missa Cantata"?
"Low Mass" is without singing, while "Missa Cantata" ("sung Mass") is with singing. Sung Mass requires more volunteers to chant the Mass, and we are very appreciative for their help.
